My name is Holly and among other things, I am an artist, illustrator and author of children’s books.

I grew up in south-west Scotland and studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art where I then taught for seven years. 

​

I draw the things I love which is why my work is filled with animals, the natural world, and occasionally, when they are good, my children.  Character is everything to me and I enjoy the challenge of seeking out and expressing this in every drawing and painting I do. 

​

I love to work in colour but am equally delighted in the joys of black and white and love nothing more than a dip pen and a pot of ink to play with.

​

Writing and illustrating books for children allows me to say all the things and express all the feelings I want my children to know and I hope in doing so it allows other parents and carers to do the same through sharing my books with their own loved ones. 

​

I have a passion for Drawing Wildly and love to share this with other creatives. I do this through taught courses, drawing classes & the Draw Wildly app which I created to encourage & enable creatives on their own artistic path. 

​

I also run online Animal Life Drawing sessions twice a month which are a total joy and the best escape from reality you can get. Welcoming & joyful for all abilities & experience.
