So, if you missed out the first time then perhaps this session time suits you better? OR perhaps you loved it so much the first time you'd like to do it all over again? Either way, come and join us. We're going to kick off the session with a bit of a difference by having a dive into Steph's colour palette and material selection before cracking on with drawing more beautiful birds.

This isn't a teaching session of how to draw like Steph, or how to draw birds.  We want to encourage your own exploration of creativity whilst in the company of others and listening and watching a professional at work - the very best type of inspiration!

Watching someone create, using skills honed over years, is such a joyful and inspiring thing. This special Animal-Artists in Action session is part of a series exploring (and generally geeking-out over), artists who celebrate the natural world in their work. 

I always wanted the Elephant in the Room sessions to be a friendly and relaxing space to create, so I'm not going to go all formal on you now! These feature sessions are designed to give everyone a brilliant insight into the creative process of another artist, whilst still having the opportunity to be creative yourself, under your own steam. We'll all be able to see both the imagery the artist is working from, as well as watching the artist's action itself. You can choose to draw, paint or doodle away whilst listening to all the creative chat, or, simply watch in awe at another creative mind at work!

The brilliant Steph Fizer Coleman is our featured artist in this session and what a wonderful treat this is going to be! A nature-illustrator whose work is widely published,  Steph's work is so vibrant in colour and texture that it always looks ready to flit right off the page. I'm a long-time admirer of Steph's beautiful illustratons so was hoppingly-happy when she said yes to joining the Elephant in the Room! 

Steph combines hand-rendered artistry with digital, seamlessly. Both forms are equal in their vibrancy & amazing sense of character, so it's no surprise that Steph is a much-admired and succesful illustrator. Probably best known for her avian illustrations, we're going to be drawing birds during this session where Steph will be hand-drawing and chatting about her process. You can draw & listen, draw along, or simply watch & marvel at the pro in action!

All levels of creatives are welcome to these sessions and there is never any pressure to share your work if you don't want to. What you can expect is to find an encouraging group of animal-loving artists who love the challenge of drawing all creatures great and small, feathered or fishy, we love them all! 

PLEASE ARRIVE IN PLENTY OF TIME - the sessions are always jam-packed with footage so I try to start promptly at 7pm so it's a good idea to jump on the zoom ten mins beforehand to get settled. I can of course let you in if you arrive late (I'm no meany!) : )

PLEASE NOTE - The split screen option is not currently available on an ipad so please use a laptop or computer. If you have an ipad then you can view either Steph's drawing space and the reference image will be a tiny thumbnail image, or visa versa.
