The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has created an extraordinary resource of information, All About Birds, which, funnily enough, is all about birds! One of the most amazing things they have set up around the world is live cameras on feeding stations and nest sights, providing an incredible insight into the lives of birds. 

Although these resources are free to view, I have sought permission to use them during this session and will be making a donation of £150 to the organisation to contribute to the running of this exceptional facility. 

We'll be drawing a variety of birds from owls high up on their nesting platform, to exotic birds at feeding stations. There is an amazing variety that we can turn to, and if the birds don't turn up, the cameras have highlighted films available for us to draw from until they do! I was testing them out today and they really were amazing - Great Horned Owl with it's chick...wow!!

All levels of creatives are welcome to these sessions and there is never any pressure to share your work if you don't want to. What you can expect is to find an encouraging group of animal-loving artists who love the challenge of drawing all creatures great and small, feathered or fishy, we love them all! 

DO BRING PLENTY OF PAPER - you will get through a lot! The rest is up to you, but I recommend choosing materials that move quickly across the page for those moving animal studies. 

PLEASE ARRIVE IN PLENTY OF TIME - the sessions are always jam-packed with footage so I try to start promptly at 7pm so it's a good idea to jump on the zoom ten mins beforehand to get settled. I can of course let you in if you arrive late (I'm no meany!) : )
