About the Event
An extra wonderful thing about Support Dogs is that 1 in 4 of the dogs they train come from rescue centres or as unwanted pets and these superhero dogs come in so many shapes and sizes! What a treat then for us to be able to celebrate & draw them!
The lovely Danny from Support Dogs has been wonderful in his enthusiasm for this drawing session which is being held as a funraiser for the charity. He has arranged for us to have the first part of our session as a Live connection with one of their wonderful dogs, then the remaining time will be drawing from photographs. Danny will be with us throughout to chat about the individual dogs and of course the work that Support Dogs do.Â
I adore these sessions where we get to learn directly from the source. They are so much fun and so interesting to listen to. Even if you don't fancy drawing but you want to support the charity, come along and listen whilst you're doing the dishes! Everyone is always welcome!Â
***NEW PRICING***
The Economy has gone bananas (I'm pretty sure you've noticed!). It's that much harder to pay the bills, let alone find extra pennies to enjoy activities and I don't want affordability to get in the way of anyone wanting to come to Animal Life Drawing. I really want everyone to be able to draw here which is why I've made tickets "pay what you can" for the forseeable.
The usual ticket price is £12 and if you can pay this, great, that really helps me to keep the classes running. But if all you can afford is £2, then that's great too - I would genuinely rather have your company than not. I mean it. I love drawing with you, it makes me happy, and I know that drawing animals will make things feel that bit brighter for you too.
All levels of creatives are welcome to these sessions and there is never any pressure to share your work if you don't want to. What you can expect is to find an encouraging group of animal-loving artists who love the challenge of drawing all creatures great and small, feathered or fishy, we love them all! These sessions are unguided, but I'm always happy to chat through process and offer advice.
DO BRING PLENTY OF PAPER - you will get through a lot! The rest is up to you, but I recommend choosing materials that move quickly across the page for those moving animal studies.Â
PLEASE ARRIVE IN PLENTY OF TIME - the sessions are always jam-packed with footage so I try to start promptly at 7pm so it's a good idea to jump on the zoom ten mins beforehand to get settled. I can of course let you in if you arrive late (I'm no meany!) : )
I can't wait to draw with you!
