In February we had so much fun being introduced to all sorts of native Costa Rican wildlife by the joyful Andrea whose enthusiasm for the wildlife was truly inspiring. It was too good not to go back, also, I was seduced by all the pictures of  new arrivals that simply MUST be drawn!

The line up is: Sloths again (of course!), Carmen the Tamandua, Crested caracaras, Hairy Porcupine!, possibly a Civet... It's going to be full of wonderful subjects to keep us entertained and our pencils busy!

Great new too that HALF of ALL ticket sales will go directly to this fabulous charity so this is another feel-good drawing session to brighten your midweek up like a toucan's beak : )

TRR does an incredible job Rescuing, Rehabilitating & Releasing injured Costa Rican wildlife, from toucans to sloths, owls to porcupines. They also receive and care for confiscated, sick, and injured animals from government agencies. The Toucan Rescue Ranch works closely with the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica (MINAE) who brings injured and displaced wildlife to the center. TRR provides sanctuary while giving treatment, rehabilitation, and when possible, release to their natural environment. I am so happy that we can join togerther to help to support this brilliant charity through our art.

ALL levels of creatives are welcome to these sessions, any age or ability! You can expect is to find an encouraging group of animal-loving artists at the Elephant in the Room sessions, the atomosphere is always warm and inviting. The challenge of drawing animals can seem daunting at first but you are great company here, and although the sessions are essentially unguided, I am always delighted to talk through techniques and materials as we draw. 

DO BRING PLENTY OF PAPER - you will get through a lot! The rest is up to you, but I recommend choosing materials that move quickly across the page for those moving animal studies. 

PLEASE ARRIVE IN PLENTY OF TIME - the sessions are always jam-packed with footage so I try to start promptly at 7pm so it's a good idea to jump on the zoom ten mins beforehand to get settled. I can of course let you in if you arrive late (I'm no meany!) : )
